COMPETITION EVENTS

Rallye

  • A Rallye course is laid out in a descriptive written format, usually with questions to be answered along the route.

  • The Rallye is a pleasurable drive on good roads providing (of course) that the driver and navigator are able to follow the instructions correctly.

  • Rallye is intended to be a fun activity for two, using a means of transport that we all appreciate, the Corvette.

  • Corvette Rallye is never a high speed or endurance event.

Concours d' Elegance

  • In this event, Corvettes are judged on appearance.

  • Corvettes are classified by year and modifications.

  • This competition gives participants an opportunity to clean the Corvette (with utmost care) and have it judged against Corvettes in the same class.

  • Less intense competition is offered in Shine & Show, where certain components such as engine and drive train are omitted from judging sheets.

  • Competition points are earned in either full Concours or Street classes.

Slalom Racing

  • Wahoo (Sorry, had a race flashback.)

  • A Slalom course in essence is an obstacle course set up with traffic cones or pylons, through which the Corvette is driven in the quickest possible time.

  • Timing equipment records each driver's elapsed time to one hundredth of a second. The best time of three runs determines the driver's standing.

  • Corvettes are classed in accordance with their performance potential, which is determined by engine horse power, suspension specifications or modifications, transmission and differential gearing, weight, and (most important) tires.

  • Women and men run in separate classes, but may race the same car. Slalom racing has been a popular activity of our members over the past three decades.
